So far, I’m happy to report, I have loved making my to-read list, and my reading challenge is helping me work through the genres.

I have updated my to-read list which now amounts to more than 200 books! That would take me around five years to read at my current pace, assuming I didn’t deviate from it. So I could be here a while. Where possible I have indicated where I got the idea to read the book from and/or if I physically own it.

It’s now a simple matter to ctrl-f the list and search for common words to help me select my next book. Here’s what I’ve read so far, the genre and my goodreads rating.

  • Finding Freedom (memoir)
  • Freedom from Anxiety (self-help)
  • News from Tartary (travel)
  • News of the World (historical fiction) (currently reading)

My brief summary of each follows, or click on the images below for my reviews.

Finding Freedom by Erin French (3 stars): Food porn, doesn’t dig deep. The memoir of a woman who made some mistakes but her love of food helped her emerge victorious.

Freedom from Anxiety by Paul McKenna (4 stars): Some great simple techniques to manage current, past and future stresses.

News from Tartary by Peter Fleming (4 stars): A 1935 travel classic about a quest to cross the Xinjiang desert to India. Amusing and enlightening.
